A CHURCH THAT SHOWS UP

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:35

You are invited to make an impact!

We believe God calls each of us to change the world for the better! At Wesley, we don’t sit on the sidelines. We get out of our seats and into the streets to care for our neighbors. Join a community outreach and serve the hungry and homeless in NJ. Or go global and help with Nyagidha Education Center in Kenya on the other side of the world

Weekly Mission

Ending Local Hunger.

We are big on feeding people. We collect food for South Plainfield Social Services and partner with New Dover UMC in Edison to make hundreds of sandwiches and collect food for St. Joseph's Food Distribution Center in Elizabeth every Friday.

For more information, click here. To join the team or arrange drop offs through Wesley Church, please contact Connie Palmer.

We delivered more than 100,000 sandwiches

Missions Update

From the Mission Team

We had two great weeks of providing lunches for BIANCA F.L.O.W.E.R.S in Plainfield, providing over 120 lunches on each occasion.  We have a week off, not packing on Labor Day, but Sharon’s group will be back with us on September 9th.

Friday morning, we packed 258 lunches which were distributed to food distribution centers in both Elizabeth and Rahway.

What a great feeling to know we will be sending 50 local students off to school with full backpacks to start their school year right. Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and money to make this happen.

As our own students head back to school, we remember our connection to the Nyagidha Education Center in Kenya.  It has been our privilege for more than 12 years to help financially support the education of the children in Nyagidha.  Our support helps to pay the teacher salaries as well as supply educational materials. During the month of September we will once again ask for your support for The Nyagidha Education Center.  The mission team has set aside $1,000.00 in matching funds to get us started.

This week’s shopping list for the South Plainfield Social Services Department:  peanut butter, jelly, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, cookies, individually packed snacks for lunches, mac n cheese, kids’ cereal, side dishes, and detergent.

Hope it was a good summer for everyone!
