A CHURCH THAT SHOWS UP

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:35

You are invited to make an impact!

We believe God calls each of us to change the world for the better! At Wesley, we don’t sit on the sidelines. We get out of our seats and into the streets to care for our neighbors. Join a community outreach and serve the hungry and homeless in NJ. Or go global and help with Nyagidha Education Center in Kenya on the other side of the world.

Weekly Mission

Ending Local Hunger.

We are big on feeding people. We collect food for South Plainfield Social Services and partner with New Dover UMC in Edison to make hundreds of sandwiches and collect food for St. Joseph's Food Distribution Center in Elizabeth every Friday.

For more information, click here. To join the team or arrange drop offs through Wesley Church, please contact Connie Palmer.

We delivered more than 100,000 sandwiches
since the pandemic.

Monthly Missions

Wesley church will be hosting a Pajama and Book drive where we will collect new pajamas and books to donate to the Pajama Program of NJ. Collection bins will be in the Narthex and Fellowship Hall through the month of January. The following page gives the guidelines for all donations to the Pajama Program. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause and share Gods presence by providing our children with the environment they need to thrive and feel safe.

Missions Update

From the Mission Team (2/28/2025)

Our sandwich makers really are the best.  We managed to pack 165 lunches for BIANCA F.L.O.W.E.R.S in Plainfield this week.  We are not packing this coming Monday, March 3rd, but will be back in the lunchroom with Sharon’s small group on March 10th.

Last Friday we packed 222 lunches at New Dover UMC.  They were all delivered to the food distribution center at St. Joseph’s in Elizabeth.

We are leaving February behind and moving into March with the hope of warmer temperatures and signs of Spring:  new life in the form of greener grass, blooming flowers, chirping birds and hopefully no natural disasters.  But when a natural disaster occurs the United Methodist Committee on Relief will be there to help with the clean-up and to offer help to the victims. This month we are looking for support for UMCOR’s Disaster Relief Fund.  $1,000.00 in matching funds from the 2nd mile mission fund has been approved by the mission team.  Mark your extra giving for UMCOR.

Our updated shopping list from South Plainfield Social Services: cereal, juice, pasta sauce, Mac n cheese, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, crackers, and chips. We will be dropping donations off to them on Thursday.

Keep the good works coming.
